Siew La- Jangan Gi tingkatan 6- Counselors advise me!

Today, i went to my former school!
The counselors ask me where i am going to study, i said, if i know, i would not in that room, then i said maybe form 6!
Then, they shocked, and asked me to appeal matriculation, i have done! The reasons why they not encourage me go to form 6 are waste time and waste my excellent results- is that true?. Excellent results- i also wonder!
But, should i go to form 6 first while waiting matriculation offer letter(prediction only)?
They asked me to go to see them again tomorrow, i have appointment with them on 9.00a.m!
They want solve my problem and try to get some options for me, i hope it will really help.
thx, anyway!

  1. Hey! Speaking of Form 6, it's not really a waste of time because taking Form 6 happens to be one of the best options for SPM graduates like us. Not saying we have to take it. But, from what my sister advised me, Form 6 is actually better than the SAM and foundations students use to take because you will definitely learn more than them when you take Form 6. And when you go to uni, you'll find it easier to cope with studies compared to the SAM and foundation students because you are more equipped than them. Plus, Form 6 is free and you don't need to spend as much money as those who are going to somewhere to study.
But, it is true that we need 2 years to complete Form 6 but, it's OK to learn more. And... After your Form 6, you can apply for scholarships too.
Don't worry! I am not asking you to take Form 6 or what. I'm just giving you my thoughts on Form 6 and it's actually OK to take it. :)
    All the best!

  2. haha... i have the same dilemma with you. All my teachers in school also discourage me from going into form 6. I failed the matrix too.
Anyway i personally think that form 6 is the biggest risk for us as it is not easy to score well there. (i mean 4 flat..of course )
how's ur spm result anyway? i got all As btw.

  3. just to summarise and clarify.

form 6 has more scope and depth than matriculation,
as well as more opportunities compared to foundation courses, diplomas and such, because you won't be bonded to a particular institution
    for your degree.

it is INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED as an EQUAL to A-levels..whatever the colleges claim.

    it is free.

and you can apply to foreign universities with those results.

whatever the course is, it all boils down to your initiative , it won't be easy but it isn't impossible.

    good luck.
