What is the difference between sponsorship and scholarship?

Scholarship?
Sponsorship?
Anyone, pls define both!

-Actually i confuse with below statement!
"Petronas is not a scholarship, but it is a sponsorship!"

    if excellent, bcome scholarhip..
    now, 4 those under petronas, they r considered borrowing...

  3. a scholarship would be ..a prize you deserved for your academic prowess or any exceptional talents the providers recognise. you don't need to repay it, at least not in monetary form...

    a sponsorship usually comes with obligation..and some conditions like which courses they fund, your current stage of education etc etc...
    ie a company who sponsors employees to go overseas to improve themselves so that they can serve better. in short, they are helping you help themselves .

    the boundaries get blurred often,
    the best bet would be to READ the small letters carefully
    no matter what it's called.
    and find your best fit.
